Who are your hosts?ILE 2023 is being co-organized by five reputed organizations, each with a specific expertise that is integral to building a robust model of radical forest futures for posterity: 1. AJK Mass Communication Research Centre (AJKMCRC), Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi 2. Vasundhara, Bhubaneshwar, Odisha, 3. Society for Rural, Urban and Tribal Initiative (SRUTI), New Delhi, 4. Policy Development Advisory Group (PDAG), Delhi, 5. Bharti Institute of Public Policy, Indian School of Business, Hyderabad & Mohali. AJK Mass Communication Research Centre, Jamia Millia Islamia University (AJK MCRC) has been instrumental in driving engagement of youth as enablers of social change. MCRC’s exchange programme for the young researchers facilitates honing of leadership amongst the youth from local and traditional communities. The vibrant space at AJK MCRC will host the ILE 2023. Vasundhara’s focus has been on enhancing capabilities of communities as well as government functionaries at different levels widely through trainings, exposure visits, and publications, predominantly in Odisha, setting precedents and thereby procedural templates for the recognition of diverse sets of rights provided under the Forest Rights Act. With an approach to leverage existing community mobilization and empowerment to create awareness of forest rights and empower communities to claim forest tenure, Society for Rural, Urban and Tribal Initiative (SRUTI) deliberately crafts opportunities for learning, reflection, widespread networking of community-led initiatives and civil society organizations to protect and sustain community rights which creates an enabling environment for scaling out to states. Policy Development & Advisory Group (PDAG) is instrumental in driving several and large people centered public policy frameworks and, partners with governments, non-profits, impact investment & multilateral organizations, academic institutions & global digital platforms to analyse and execute robust policy, research and communications solutions. PDAG is also managing the guests’ and event related logistics for the ILE 2023. Engaging with government and administration at the highest levels in select states, Bharti Institute of Public Policy, The Indian School of Business (BIPP, ISB) is working at multiple levels to ensure technically and procedurally sound claims for community rights, engaging with select industry leaders to facilitate economic progress ensuring tenure security at scale.

When will I know the complete day wise event schedule?Soon. We will publish the detailed schedule on the Homepage of ILE website. Please keep visiting the website for updates. You are also advised to signup for the mailing list. We will broadcast important updated directly to your inbox.

I am an international participant. Do I need a visa to travel to India?Yes. As an international visitor, you are required to apply for tourist visa to attend the event. Please check the India embassy / consulate website of your respective countries to know about the process and apply for visa on time.

Is there any registration fee for ILE?There is no registration fee for attending the event. However, only selected participants will be able to attend the event. You will receive the confirmation or denial email in two working days after your date of registration.

I am an international participant. Will I get travel and accommodation support?Yes. We have funds to support your travel, boarding and lodging. You will receive detailed communication over email after your registration.

I am a national participant. Will I get travel and accommodation support?Limited number of travel, boarding and lodging support are available for invited participants. We are not extending support to all the participants accepted for the event. There is no registration fee for the ILE. Participants who are unable to secure the support will have make their own arrangement for travel and accommodation. We will post a list of accommodation options for your convenience.
